Kripalu Gentle/Beginners Flow
Kripalu Yoga is an integrated system of warm-ups, postures, breathing exercises, and relaxation techniques that are self-transforming! In this class we use props to help support our bodies, as we match breath to movement, focus our attention and explore the collective strength of connective tissue, joints and muscles. Clear, detailed instructions including options for poses are given so students may develop a heightened sense of body awareness. In addition to proper physical alignment, Kripalu Yoga focuses on aligning thoughts, feelings, and actions, so that our self-expression in the world reflects our growing knowledge of our true nature. Through this practice you can enter meditative states that awaken compassion and transform your sense of what it means to be alive. Whether you’re a seasoned athlete or a spend most of your time sitting behind a desk, this class is for YOU!
Kripalu Moderate-to-Vigorous Vinyasa Flow
This class is more of a strengthening practice that includes longer holding times, more inter-connective flow between postures, meditation in motion, greater emphasis on internal awareness and less detailed instruction. Asana is synchronized with controlled breathing and energy locks (bandhas). An internal heat is produced in the body, allowing for purifying of the organs. Whether you’re a beginner looking for a challenge, or you have a strength training regimen and want to gain flexibility and increase mindfulness, you are welcome to join!
*Familiarity with yoga postures is required.

Having yoga at work helps improve employee productivity, creativity and mental clarity, all the while reducing the number of sick days and improving morale. In this current economic environment, it is more important than ever that employees have the tools necessary to manage stress and heavier than normal workloads. So many people are caught between long hours at the office and time spent with their families. With such demands on their schedules, physical activity is often the first thing to go. But being less active can actually make meeting those demands even more difficult. After awhile being too sedentary, your mind and body fatigue easily, leaving you with less overall energy to give to your job, your family and yourself! Yoga in the workplace is a convenient and smart way to keep a balanced life and fit in a workout, without ever leaving the premises.
By collaborating the needs and goals of your staff, Farah can put together a complete holistic program either as a course of regular weekly classes or as individual workshops. To get started all you need is a group of 10 people and a large, quiet, clear space – it could be a board meeting cleared of tables and chairs, or in warmer months, a quiet grassy area outside on the premises.
Classes can be conducted anytime across the working day, but most popular are sessions at lunchtime and immediately after work. Classes are offered in a 30-90 minute formats and are adjusted for students of all levels. Classes are most effective when run in a series of once or twice a week for a minimum of 8 weeks. Cost can be divided between the employer and employee or fully funded by the employer.
Students find that bringing yoga into the workday is a wonderful way to rejuvenate and release pent-up stress caused by a hectic schedule and bring balance to the working environment. The vibrant energy and sense of calm created with yoga in the workplace can further resonate into all aspects of your daily life.

Private yoga sessions are for you if:
- You are new to practicing yoga and want to be able to keep up in large group classes;
- You want to learn details about poses and proper alignment, breathing and meditation that may otherwise be difficult to learn in a large group setting;
- You struggle with certain poses or have medical issues that need attention;
- You want to learn modifications for poses, how to use props, and receive adjustments
- You want to safely and slowly learn advancing postures such as inversions, arm balances and backbends;
- You have an injury/just had surgery but want to keep practicing without hurting yourself further;
- You want to reduce pain and muscular tension in a specific area of your body;
- You would like to learn breathing techniques for deep relaxation and meditation for stress relief
Some students find that just a few sessions are enough to take their yoga to the next level, while others prefer regular sessions to augment their group and home practice. Consider a private session for guidance and personal attention in your next step toward becoming more skillful in life, enhancing wellbeing, having healthy relationships, and becoming an ally with your mind.
$50-$60/hour -- depending on if the session is at the client's home or office or my studio. The distance and time it takes to get to the session is also factored in. Reduced rates offered for students that take private group classes with me.
